What's the physical difference between a Regular and a Business license?
Whether you sign up for a Business license or a Regular one, there are no differences in the source code. In fact, you get the exact same features. The Business license is intended for companies who will be using bbv2 on their company web site - for example, a web host using bbv2 for their support forums.
We realized that the Business license would be above the price range for most regular users, so we created the Regular license for non-business use. It is significantly cheaper than the Business license.
If you will be using your copy of bbv2 for a company web site, you need the Business license. If you aren't, then you need the Regular license.
If I purchase a license, will I have to pay a yearly fee for future updates?
No. There are no additional fees if you purchase a license. You will receive access to the bbBoard v2 Client Area, with the access to upgrade to any future releases of bbBoard v2 permanently.

Can I change the filename/extension of the main script?
Yes. Once you have completed the installation of bbBoard v2, bring up a command line (SSH/Telnet is fine) to bbv2's base directory, and type:
perl chgfilename.pl OLD NEW
Change "OLD" to the current file name (bbBoard.cgi is the default), and "NEW" to what you wish to rename it to. For example, if you wish to rename the script from bbBoard.cgi to messageboard.pl, you would type:
perl chgfilename.pl bbBoard.cgi messageboard.pl
Can I change the location to Perl in all scripts at once?
Yes. Once you have completed the installation of bbBoard v2, bring up a command line (SSH/Telnet is fine) to bbv2's base directory, and type:
perl chgperl.pl /location/to/perl
Change "/location/to/perl" to the actual path to your Perl binary. For example:
perl chgperl.pl /usr/local/bin/perl
What country is bbNetwork Ltd incorporated in?
bbNetwork Ltd is a British company incorporated in England and Wales.
Do I need my own web hosting to run bbBoard v2?
Normally, yes. If you do not have web hosting, you may want to consider one of our bbv2 Hosting accounts, which include hosting, a full bbv2 license, and automatic installation.

Can I transfer/sell my license?
Yes. We offer 4 options for transferring licenses:
- Move license to different user account (free) - If you have registered more than one account on our support forums, you can transfer your license to your other account for free.
- Transfer owner only (free) - Intended for use if your web site has changed hands, and you wish the new owner's name to appear on the license.
- Transfer domain only (£15 GBP fee) - If you wish to move your board to a different web site/domain name.
- Transfer owner and domain name (£25 GBP fee) - Intended for use if you have sold your license to a 3rd party. The license will appear in the new owner's name, user account, and registered domain name.
I have an existing board on your v1 hosting. Can I purchase v2 with my v1 credit?
Although bbboy.net and bbv2 are run by different companies, we have a special arrangement to make this possible. Please contact Support to arrange it.
